bedroom to office renovation

Here  is a (rather shaky) video I took of the new office space. (note: the video is currently “updating” so if you have trouble viewing it, try again in a few)

Please ignore the cords everywhere (I plan to hide them) and the bad camera work. I took this with my iPhone.

The total cost for the transformation so far is $49. $24 for paint- $5 rebate, and $30 for stain and staining supplies for the desk that isn’t in the office yet.

I plan to pick up a few knick knacks and things for the space and I’m debating what kind of window covers to put on. We have rods already in place, but need to purchase finials (the ones that were in here were glow in the dark stars!).

I’m also trying to figure out what to put on my wall. I’m considering blowing a few of my favorite pictures up, or hunting down cheap frames and making a photo collage.

Mostly I love the room since it’s far from the main area of the house, and the kids are not allowed in without permission and an adult present. That means we can put our favorite (and most expensive) things in the room and they won’t get wrecked. :)

Do you have a room of your own?

Your new office space looks incredible. Its space is just enough for your furniture and stuff. I’d be happy if I got the chance to have an office space like yours. =)

    Awesome!

I do not have a room of my own, but I do have a painting of one by my friend Jenn Judd-McGee. (www.swallowfield.typepad.com)

    It looks great!
