While I love following trends I don’t love the price tag that is associated with being trendy, so I put together a list of the top 10 trends for fall with some budget friendly selections so you can have your fashion and your savings too.
10 Fall Trends for Less
1. Colored Jeans
Colored jeans are still hot, and this fall the focus is on bright colors like hot pink, royal blue, and emerald green. You can find this look for way less at stores like Old Navy who have Rockstar jeans for under $20. The fit is meant to be good for everyone but if you have concerns about your mid-section you can still wear this trend, just use a tunic or longer layers.
2. Dark Red
Gorgeous deep red (think oxblood, wine, or burgundy) is another huge color trend. This is an easy color to bring into your fall wardrobe with accessories like belts, handbags, and jewelry.
3. Lace
Lace is a huge trend. You’ll find it on blouses, sweaters, dresses, shoes, and more. Lace is a great way to bring a soft and feminine touch to any outfit. Look for lace camisoles to layer with existing sweaters and pants.
4. Studs
Studs are huge, especially for shoes. Look for inexpensive flats and heels with studs at stores like Old Navy, Piperlime, and Target.
5. Neon
If you’re a child of the ’80s you’ll remember neon very well. It’s still back, and has taken on a chic feel with neon accessories, sweaters, and more. Adding a pop of color to a bland wardrobe can be a great way to inject some fun and trend into your wardrobe on a budget. Think a neon pair of shoes with a black sheath dress, or a neon necklace with a simple white shirt and jeans.
6. High waist pants and jeans
Can I get a Hallelujah? I can’t wear low rise jeans at all because of the length of my torso so I’m glad to see the low rise trend is out, and high waist is in. No that doesn’t mean mom jeans, but it does mean we can bend over to pick up toys or kids without worrying about showing off too much.
7. Leather
Whether it’s a leather bag, a skirt, or leather riding boots they are in! Leather can be a great staple in your wardrobe especially when it comes to shoes and handbags. While these aren’t a cheap option the choices below are ones that will look good season after season.
8. Prints
Whether it’s printed jeans, bold printed shirts, or graphic dresses print is big. The bigger and bolder the better! You can find this trend at discount retailers, and mass market stores easily. Whether you shop at Target or TJ Maxx you can find this trend for under $50 and often less!
9. Slip ons
While heels are still in, flats and slip ons are a huge trend this year. For those of us who don’t spend our days washing laundry in 4 inch heels this is great news. It’s wearable and easily affordable. Whether it’s ballet flats or Toms you will see this trend everywhere this Fall.
10. Pencil Skirts
I adore pencil skirts, and I’m so glad to see they are available everywhere. From lower price points to high end designs that will be staples in your wardrobe for years to come. Pencil skirts are super flattering for most women, and bring a classic but sexy style to any look.
