January 1st is always a day of reflection for me, even if I’m doing the 10 million typical things I do every day as a mom.
Not only is it the beginning of a new year, and a new decade, it’s also my wedding anniversary.
Nine years ago, on 01/01/01 my husband and I were married in a small ceremony in an adorable little chapel. Our then 3 year old son sang Old McDonald while we exchanged vows and my mom tried to suppress her laughter. If you’ve ever heard a 3 year old sing Old McDonald you know why she was laughing.
I barely remember the words, but I remember the feeling of saying our wedding vows, and how much I meant every word.
Today is a day I think about all the wonderful and amazing things that have happened over the last year, and how lucky I am to be even more in love with my husband every year. I hope you have just as many dreams in your heart, and goals on your list as I do. I know 2010 will be a great year. It’s already started beautifully.
I wish you all a very happy 2010.
