‘free’ diet

Today is day 1 of my new diet. I’m not ‘dieting’ to lose weight, though that would be a nice side benefit, but to become healthier.

To put it bluntly I’ve been eating a lot of junk, and my body is not happy about it.

Instead of eliminating one thing or another, or just cutting the junk, I’m taking a more radical approach.

I’m eliminating some common allergens: gluten, soy, dairy, and I’m cutting out sugar.

I also plan to start running again next week. This week I’ll increase my walking, and exercise with our Wii Fit 3-4 days a week.

I’ll be posting once a day to Posterous if you are interested in following me. I may add a tab to this site, or a secondary site, but for now you can find my journey here.

Hi Kelly! If you need any tips on cutting gluten & finding good substitute foods, I’ve been gluten free for little over a year. I can give you shortcuts on which mixes and cookbooks are good if you need/want such info. I wasted a lot of $ figuring out this stuff, so I’m happy to share! I think of cutting dairy, but haven’t yet. But sugar? Don’t think I could really live without it.
