If you have preschoolers chances are likely that you’ve seen Disney’s Imagination Movers. Their fun 30 minute show filled with catchy rock and roll tunes, and silly antics airs on Playhouse Disney every morning at 10am.
We’ve been fans of the show since it started airing last fall. It’s the only show that gets all the kids up and dancing. It’s also one of the few shows I enjoy watching with the kids.
The Imagination Movers are on first tour of the US right now. For dates and venues, you can check out their website. They will be heading to AZ, CA, OR, and WA.
My kids and I had the opportunity to see the show on Saturday, thanks to ClassyMommy.
We had a fantastic time! The movers put on a great show. They had kids and adults alike up and dancing in the aisles. They all took turns coming down the aisles and high fiving all the kids. Rich even went all the way to the back of the venue, which I thought was fantastic! Most of the time the kids in the back wouldn’t get anywhere near close enough to get a high five.
Highlights of our concert visit
- Mover Scott came and sat down next to me and my reluctant toddler for a minute during the show.
- My girls started by dancing in the aisle next to me, but soon figured out they could dance their way up to the front by the stage. My oldest stood by Mover Dave the whole time dancing and singing along.
- We got to meet the movers after the show! This was probably the best part. They were all so friendly, and genuinely happy to be meeting their fans. The kids were beyond thrilled to get to meet the Movers, and it’s something I’m sure they will remember forever.

During the show the Movers shared that they are all from New Orleans. 3 out of 4 of them lost their homes to flooding, and they also lost their studio. Rich shared that Smitty is a New Orleans firefighter and he got a well deserved round of applause. I found a few mentions online that the Imagination Movers film their show in New Orleans. I think it’s fantastic that they were able to film in their community and bring jobs, and money into an area that so desperately needs it.
If you haven’t seen the Movers, check them out on Disney every morning at 10am, or pick up their DVD or their latest CD: For Those About to Hop
