My blogging plans (and life!) have been thwarted over the weekend and today by my allergies. I have had slight seasonal allergies before, but this year they have gotten worse. I had planned this post for Saturday or Sunday but never got around to posting it! I expect I will absent for some time this week. It’s a busy week here, and with my allergies any spare energy I have will go to cleaning up the house, tackling the mountain of laundry and mowing the jungle of a yard we now have.

On the 11th I was a part of the Carnival of Money Stories hosted at Gather Little by Little.

I was thrilled to be picked as editor’s choice for The Money Hacks Carnival #64 hosted by My Life ROI!

guest post!

I also had a guest post titled 5 Frugal Tips for Parents (even though I included 7, consider the last 2 extras!) at The Suburban Dollar.

Around the web:

Video from The Simple Dollar on making your own laundry detergent. I haven’t tried this but it looks easy!

Small Notebook posted FREE printables for making your own Menu Plan & Shopping List spreadsheet. This is an easy and simple way to create a menu plan, and make sure you have everything you need!

Man Vs. Debt wrote a post on The Debt Tsunami. Love this idea! I’ll have to consider which debts have the most emotional impact on me. Maybe my Chase card? Or maybe my student loans? (I don’t have a degree)

I will be spending the rest of the day resting, and catching up on my reading. Hope you have a good Monday.

Matt, I think she’s okay on that front, since Kelly’s the one who coordinated the cow share where I picked up my 1/8th of a grass-fed, grass-finished cow. Unfortunately, grass-finished beef is not all that easy to find around here, so it’s not as easy as going to the market (unless you want very little selection and extremely high prices).

Kelly, my allergies have been absolutely awful lately as well! Poor DS has been even worse. He’s back on Singulair and his asthma meds. Hope we’re ALL feeling better soon.

Thought I’d let you know…

I discovered I was allergic to meat sold in regular grocery stores, be it chicken, beef or whatever.

I stopped buying from the large grocery stores & now do my shopping at my local meat market where they carry hormone free, grass-fed meat…no more allergies!

Something to think about… ;-)

Hope you kick those allergies, I take the generic form of Zyrtec and it seems to keep me up and running. If I don’t take anything daily I have to take benadryl when the attacks hit and then I am worthless

Thanks for the well wishes.
The Zyretec and the Flonase helped my allergies, but apparently I have the virus the rest of the family already kicked. I’m feverish now. Fun stuff. Hopefully I will be back on my feet tomorrow, I’ve been sick too much the last few months!

Hope you feel better! My oldest son has major environmental allergies, too–it’s awful to see him suffer so. Perssonally, I love spring with all the flowers, trees, etc., but it’s my son’s least favorite season because for him it means sleepless nights and not-so-pleasant days.
