Paycheck Stimulus Revisited

in money

I’ve noticed this is a popular post on my blog, and wanted to share that we have started receiving our paycheck stimulus money.

For us it amounted to an additional $51 per paycheck for the hubby’s paycheck. Both of my paychecks are hourly rates, so it’s harder to tell an exact number.

We are paid bi-weekly so you may see a larger increase if you are paid monthly.

We are using the extra “snowflake” to contribute to our debt snowball. It will take a month off our repayment schedule! Not to shabby!

Have you seen your pay increase yet? What do you plan to do with the “extra” money?

  • Make your credit cards hard to access. Freezing them in a big block of ice is really not that bad of an idea, but you may also want to delete the numbers from your online stores memories, which will make it harder to shop there as well.
  • Just wanted to add - for your lucky readers who are single with an income of $75,000 or more or joint income of $150,000 or more, the credit starts phasing out at those levels.

If you have two jobs or a family with two earners, your company may not realize you are over these levels and add more stimulus money into your check than you are entitled to. You may want to file a new form W-4 in these cases.
  • My paycheck yesterday was $18 more than normal. I am a single person who makes less than $30,000 and I get paid twice a month.
I, too, am using this snowflake for extra debt payment.
P.S. I love your blog, I found it through Wesabe...
