I have had a crazy couple of days with weekend work, a party I threw, and a day long trip to New York City. I’m in NYC, and will be filming a segment with Jeanne Chatzky for Today.

Jeanne put out a call on twitter for folks in need of a mini-money makeover. I definitely fit the bill since our spending has been out of whack on the weekends.

We budget, we plan, we save, but then the weekend comes and we spend more than we planned. It had become a bad habit. I got some great advice from Jeanne.

I’ll let you know when it airs so you can watch me make a fool out of myself talk to Jeanne, Kathy Lee, and Hoda about reining in our spending. Look for a link to the show by the end of the week.

In other exciting news, I was featured on MSN Money Blog! Check it out!

I had some time on the train ride to catch up on my blog reading and came across these gems.

First up, ManVs.Debt who shares 42 ways to Radically Simplify Your Life.
I LOVE this blog post. It is a through list, and really challenges anyone who thinks they are living a simple life to try something new. I guarantee you haven’t tried everything on this list!

Baker is also a staff writer over at Get Rich Slowly where another gem comes from staff writer April who wrote about Using a Flowchart to Evaluate Purchases.
Love this! What a great way to set up barriers against spending more than you need to. It’s so easy for me to justify spending, so this is a concept I will definitely be putting into practice ASAP.

I also want to send my condolences to Frugal Dad. FrugalDad lost his mom today at the young age of 54. My thought and prayers are with you and your family, FD.
