Start Over, Finish Rich: 10 Steps to Get You Back on Track in 2010

Review:

Start Over, Finish Rich is a guide to get you on track with your finances this year. The steps David outlines are straightforward and he gives you specific actions to get your finances on track. The advice is paired with David’s sunny outlook, and positive encouragement, which makes for a pleasant read.

I admit that there were several things I wasn’t doing already, just because I write about personal finance doesn’t mean I am an expert. The book was so encouraging when I finished reading it I immediately took action.

I really enjoyed the book, and would recommend it. It’s an excellent book for anyone who has areas of their finances that need work, or those who are making 2010 the year of financial fitness.

For more info on the book, you can go to the Start Over, Finish Rich site.

Now the part you have been waiting for! I have 3 copies of the book to give away!

Kelly – Thanks for hosting this giveaway. David Bach is one of my favorite authors on personal finance , so I hope I win!

My #1 financial resolution is try to make a million bucks this year. It's a lofty goal, that forces me to figure innovative ways to increase income sources from outside of my job such as investing, creating a new product, my site, and so forth. This goal also forces me to do my very best at my job at hand.

I may not succeed, but this is one reach goal I'm always excited to try and obtain every year for the past 5 years!

Happy New Year!

Sam

Sorry I forgot to add to my comment that my financial resolution is to pay off any debt I have this year besides the mortgage. Lofty goal but I'm up for the challenge. I'm taking massive action to achieve the goal with my upcoming blog highlighting business and self help book reviews with tips and how they can be applied to action.

Best wishes on a great New Year and hope everyone here achieves their financial goals and more!

Shannon January 3, 2010 at 7:51 pm

I'm actually starting a blog reviewing Business and Self Help books as they relate to every day life and careers and then pass them on to readers. I would love to start with a a book like this and note how I came about to reading it!

I would love a copy of the book. It is hard to know where to start, so I think I will set a goal that I know I can achieve. I want to know what I spend and I want to shop around and make sure that I am not paying more than I should for utilities, insurance, food, etc.

Jennifer Y. December 30, 2009 at 4:27 pm

Melissa December 30, 2009 at 9:38 am

I loved the Smart Women Finish Rich book, so would love to read this book then recommend it to a friend who REALLY needs it :)

That said, my top financial resolution for the year is to actually start keeping track of what i spend. I have a very rough idea of where my money goes, but I bet I’d be shocked at how much goes to eating out and shopping…. Something I need to get a handle on! So, I resolve to start using a tracking program to keep tabs on everything.

Aaron Clarifinancial December 30, 2009 at 2:22 pm

I can't understand how you don't have any entries here yet. Although I, embarrasingly, have never read any of David Bach's books, I would welcome the opportunity to read this one. I'm going to retweet this too so people know. Free books are the best.

Daniel December 30, 2009 at 2:19 pm

I love David Bach, but I haven't gotten a chance to read this one yet!

My resolution for the year is to continue saving over 40% of my take home pay. It may be tough to be consistent about it, and when I find a new apartment in July, I'll have to do my research and put in a lot of effort to find a place that doesn't suck away too much of my money.

Our top financial goal is to pay off our home equity loan. We will then continue making payments but to ourselves for investing.
