Rice Krispies Scavenger Hunt!

by Kelly on March 29, 2010

in contests

I’ve hidden an “Easter Egg” somewhere on my blog as part of an Easter Scavenger hunt along with 9 other bloggers and The Motherhood!  It’s just like having an egg hunt, only online and with way better prizes than plastic smelling jelly beans!

The Motherhood and Rice Krispies are giving away some cool prizes to winners:

How to enter:

You have to find it and complete all of the following to be eligible to win prizes:

  1. Find all ten “eggs,” and then post “Found It” in the comment section of each blog when you find the blogger’s “egg”(don’t give the hiding spot away, though!);
  2. Post a Rice Krispies Treats® recipe at the Motherhood here
  3. Tweet a link to your recipe using the hashtag #ricekrispies
  4. Finally, e-mail contact@themotherhood.com with all ten links to where the “eggs” are hidden, a link to your Rice Krispies Treats® recipe you posted on The Motherhood, and a link to your tweet.

You have until 5:00 p.m. ET on Friday, April 2, to complete the scavenger hunt and e-mail the links.  Then winners will be selected at random using www.random.org. View official contest rules here.

And without further ado, here is a clue that will lead you to my hidden egg:

Your Shape for the Wii Giveaway!

by Kelly on February 2, 2010

in contests

I’ve been fortunate to be a part of the Your Shape Challenge. Along with 9 other women I am using the game to get fit over the next 3 months. You can follow along at the Your Shape Challenge blog, or on twitter with the hashtag #yourshape.

I enjoy the workouts since they are so varied. I can choose to focus on different areas of my body, and every day I get a different workout. I get bored easily so this is a great way for me to stay entertained while I exercise.

Now you have the chance to win a copy of Your Shape to give it a try for yourself! One lucky winner will be chosen! If you don’t win this week, please keep checking my fellow participants’ blogs, there will be more opportunities to win!

Here’s a video of Jenny explaining how the Your Shape game works:

January is National Thyroid Awareness Month

The thyroid is a small gland located in the middle of the lower neck, which produces hormones that regulate many functions including temperature, weight gain, and weight loss.  Many Americans experience various problems with the functioning of their thyroid.  Some red flags to watch for are:

  • sudden weight gain or increase in body fat
  • inability to lose weight despite proper diet and exercise
  • fatigue, insomnia or restless sleep, anxiety or panic attacks
  • gas, bloating, diarrhea, or constipation
  • chronic sinusitis or lingering infections

It is important that people experiencing these warning signs see their physician to learn more.

There are also many online resources for those seeking more information and support.  One online resource is the Fibro 360 Community – Fibromyalgia and Fatigue Center.  This online community not only offers a network of support, but also resources to those seeking more information about fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and related disorders including those concerning the thyroid.

If you’d like to learn more or would like to join the Fibro 360 Community, please visit Fibro 360 on Facebook.  You can also follow Fibro 360 on Twitter.

Could you use a little pampering?  One reader from this site will win a $25 gift card to Amazon.com to be used on whatever you need!  Let me treat you!

To enter:

  • Visit the Fibro 360 Community on Facebook and become a fan, then leave me a comment to let me know!
  • Would you like a bonus entry?  Leave a comment to let me know you follow @Fibro360 on Twitter!

Contest ends January 31st at 11:59 p.m. EST.
