Have you heard of Swagbucks? It’s a search tool for the web that rewards you with free “swagbucks” which you can use to buy prizes, “swag”, or gift cards. You also earn more swagbucks for referring friends.
It’s pretty simple to set up:
- Install the toolbar.
- Search.
- Earn Swagbucks!
- Refer friends to earn more Swagbucks!
- Redeem your Swagbucks for swag or gift cards.
I’m using my Swagbucks to “buy” gift cards which will help offset the cost of Christmas next year. I’m excited to see how much I can save. This isn’t my original idea, I’ve seen it floated on twitter before, but it’s a great idea!
This week I have been extremely busy with one thing and another, so I thought instead of creating a list of posts I enjoyed, I would give everyone the chance to leave me their favorite post from this week. Use the Linky below, and leave a link, so I can go read it!
You can leave a link for your own site, or if you aren’t a blogger leave a link to something you read that inspired you! I promise I will stop by every link and leave a comment as well.

Disclosure: Links to Swagbucks are refferal links, and I will earn some Swagbucks for you signing up through my links. So look at it this way, you have a chance to buy my kids’ Christmas gifts next year.

This week has been crazy, awesome, and exhausting.
I went to New York City to attend the Martha Stewart Show, spent time with an awesome group of Philly bloggers, and rode in a limo for the 1st time. Whitney sure knows how to roll in style!
I was listed on Serene Journey as one of 30 bloggers to watch in 2010. I am thrilled my blog is in the company of Frugal Dad, Small Notebook, and World’s Strongest Librarian, among others. I feel a little like “I’m not worthy,” but clearly Sherri doesn’t agree. I actually credit Rachel from Small Notebook starting me on the path to blogging.
Head over an leave a comment, since Sherri left it open for you to tell her who should be #30. My choice, other than Serene Journey, which I found through Zen Family Habits, is Emily’s amazing, fun, beautiful blog Remodeling This Life.
I’m also over at Consumerism Commentary with my weekly post. This week I wrote, Discounts via Social Media: A Surprising Way to Save. I talked about giveaways (ahem, like mine), contests, discounts, and freebies. One of the most surprising ways to save on twitter is using twitter for customer service, because twitter is such a quick medium you can get instant responses from brands that are monitoring their company on twitter.
A big thanks to Jim from Bargaineering for featuring my giveaway this week!
My Help for Haiti post is also being featured on several sites, including Bloganthropy. To some people the idea of donating this way seems selfish, and I understand that perspective.
I am donating 10¢/comment on my blogiversary post, and all my January ad proceeds. I have also spoken to several bloggers who are going to match my donations. That means I’ll be able to make a much larger donation, simply by being a blogger. I love that.
I hope you have a lovely Sunday.
