365 Day Meal Plan: Week Nine

We’re officially on the third month of my 365 Day Meal Plan, and despite hiccups and my forgetful nature when it comes to scheduling we’re not only managing to cook at home every meal (aside from planned outings), but we’re also seeing the savings in our bottom line. After two months we’ve shaved about 25% off our total food spending!

Reminder: You can create your own rotating menu plan by downloading my menu plan templates which includes a handy grocery list template.

Week Eight Meal Recap

Monday: Bone-in chicken breasts, rice, buttered green beans, cornbread

I totally spaced on buttermilk so the cornbread didn’t get made. I know there’s a shortcut way to make buttermilk (dash of vingear + milk), but personally prefer the real thing.

Tuesday: Brinner- gluten-free pancakes or waffles, bacon (drool), fruit salad, smoothies

Nana visited and bought the kids Chick-Fil-A for dinner.

Wednesday: “Mix Night” nacho chips, tacos, tortillas, taco beef, leftover chicken, and lots of sides.

Such an easy meal to make, and thankfully it’s quick since Wednesday was a busy day!

Thursday: Rosemary Roast, roasted potatoes, salad

My husband was out this evening and since this is his favorite meal I opted to keep it simple with sandwiches for the kids and a salad for me.

Friday: Make your own pizzas, side of salad (if you aren’t gluten-free try out our Whalen family pizza dough recipe)

Aidan had his last basketball game this evening, so we took him out for hamburgers as a treat for working so hard this season (he’s new to playing basketball and has been practicing dribbling at home all. the. time.).

Saturday: Clean out the fridge night

Always a fun meal-tonight consisted of gluten free pizza (we didn’t make the night before), hot dogs, waffles and lots of fruits and veggies.

Sunday: Roasted chicken, rice, broccoli

Thankfully this week a few of our after school activities have slowed or stopped, so this week should be less hectic than the last 3-4 weeks have been.

Week Nine Meal Plan: Week of March 4th

Monday: Hamburgers and hot dogs, frugal fries, and salad

Tuesday: Split chicken breasts, brown rice, salad, sliced oranges

Wednesday: Gluten-free pasta, broccoli, garlic bread, cheese & sauce, salad

Thursday: Cider glazed pork loin, gluten-free corn bread, salad

Friday: Pizza night, garlic bread, salad

Saturday: Clean out the fridge night

Sunday: Stir Fry night (shrimp, steak, veggies) with rice and salad

What’s on your menu this week?

Wow, this is great! I’m gearing up to start meal planning instead of meal “winging it” they we have been for the last, well, forever! Going to download your templates as part of my prep. Wish me luck! Hope to really kick it off when we return from spring break.

I’m glad it helps! Good luck! Let me know if you have any questions. I ‘winged it’ for about 15 years so I’m glad to finally have something that works.
