Last week was the first week of school, and to keep my life simple I made meal planning easy. It worked out well, and kept me from pulling my hair out while we were trying to get back into a schooltime routine.
Monday: Brinner! Pancakes, sausage, fruit, and smoothies.
Yummy! This is always a family favorite, and was a great way to celebrate back to school.
Tuesday: Tacos with my taco meat recipe.
Easy and fun for everyone.
Wednesday: Perfect roast chicken, salad, corn on the cob, and roasted potatoes.
Our potatoes didn’t look so good, so we skipped those, and had watermelon instead.
Thursday: Homemade pizza night with a side of salad.
We ended up making sandwiches this evening since it was a busy night.
Friday: Sandwiches at the pool (if it’s nice out!), or finger foods and a movie to celebrate the end of our first week.
We hit the pool, picked up takeout pizza and ice cream and still had time for a little Dr. Who.
Saturday: Clean out the fridge night!
Everyone ate a little of everything, and the hubby made some fried chicken and corn bread muffins.
Sunday: Steak, baked potatoes, salad, green beans, and watermelon.
D’oh. Totally forgot this was the night we were at a friend’s house for their annual crab fest.
I know this week’s menu is a day late, but in the spirit of Labor Day, I didn’t labor. 🙂 Instead I spent the day offline visiting with Leticia and Grace and visiting the ‘Art of Video Games’ exhibit in DC. Fun times!
Truthfully I shouldn’t even be posting this week’s menu since I’ll be out of town (at FinCon), but thought I would share what is going on while I’m gone.
Week 35 Menu Plan: Week of September 3rd
Monday: Labor Day-we ate all day it seems!
Tuesday: Takeout! I’m unabashedly buying takeout since we leave for Denver in the morning, and my parents (who are will be helping out in my absence this week) will be arriving late in the afternoon.
Wednesday: Chicken breasts, mac and cheese, salad, and fruit on the side.
Thursday: Spaghetti night
Friday: Taco night
Saturday: Burgers and hot dogs
Sunday: Takeout again! After arriving home from the airport in the afternoon the last thing I will want to do is cook. 😉
