I have been a lax in updating about our 365 day homecooking challenge. We are doing really well with it, so here’s my update from January 11th-24th.
1/11/10 Chicken, noodles, salad, raw veggies.
1/13/10 I was in NYC, so I ate out. Family had dinner with my mom.
1/14/10 I came home from NYC feeling sick, and didn’t eat. The kids had sandwiches.
1/15/10 Hamburgers and hot dogs, chips, salad, fruit.
1/16/10 Nachos: spicy beef, grated cheese, salad, tortilla chips, etc.
1/17/10 Grilled cheese and tomato soup, salad, raw veggies.
1/18/10 Noodles and leftovers.
1/19/10 Sandwiches (very little time to eat this night)
1/20/10 Nachos: spicy beef, grated cheese, salad, tortilla chips, etc.
1/21/10 Takeout Pizza from Wegman’s (cheaper than frozen pizza at $10!)
1/24/10 Sirloin steak, frugal fries, salad, green beans, garlic bread.
I need to come up with a plan for nights I am exhausted, rather than sandwiches. I’m thinking I need to rely on some kind of frozen food just in case I am not home, or feeling bad. It’s cheaper than takeout, and while I would love to be able to make casseroles or stews, things that freeze well, my family won’t eat them.
What do you do for dinner when you are in a rush, or exhausted?
