The end of summer is nearly here. It’s both a little YAY! and a little BOO. In any case the kids head back to school this week, so we’re working on wrapping up summer with a little summer fun. Here’s what we’ll be eating for dinner after an adventurous day.
Ready to start meal planning, but don’t know where to start?
August Meal Plan: Week Four
Monday: Steak Sandwiches
Bob used to be a cook, so he knows how to make a mean steak sandwich. We serve them up on Schar buns, a great big salad, and a side of fries.
Tuesday: Fish Tacos
Easy fish tacos? Yes, please. This looks like a winner, and it’s a complete meal when you top it with veggies. Perfecto.
Wednesday: Perfect Chicken
It’s been awhile since we cooked out perfect chicken recipe, but it’s high time to pull it out again. It’s easy to make, delicious, and with a few great sides can be a great dinner. I’ll serve it with garlic mashed potatoes and roasted green beans.
Friday: Slow Cooker Pork
Pulled barbecue pork is a new family favorite. Not only is it simple to make since it slow cooks all day, but it makes the house smell divine! Bob uses this recipe from Nom Nom Paleo.
Saturday: Clean Out The Fridge Night
We’ll work on cleaning out the fridge of all the leftovers and foods that need to be eaten up before they go bad. It’s a great way to reduce waste. Read about how we reduce food waste at home here.
Making gluten-free and dairy-free pizza is a challenge, but we’ve been doing pretty well with it! I’ll be sure to share my latest version soon, but in the meantime you can always try our Whalen Family pizza dough recipe if you’re not gluten-free or as a basis for your own recipe. My favorite toppings lately are olives, arugula, and Daiya cheese.
What’s on your menu this week?
