August Meal Plan: Week Three

August 17, 2015 By Kelly Leave a Comment

The third week of August means I’m running around doing a million errands. Health forms need to be filled out, school supplies need to be purchased, and we’re inching ever closer to back to school. I love this time of year. I’m a sucker for school supplies. In any case having a meal plan at the ready is a huge help when I have a million and one things to do-like this week. (and next, and the week after)

Ready to start meal planning, but don’t know where to start?

You can read the 5 easy steps we use to create our meal plan and then download the printable 2015 Menu Plan to get started and save $1,000s each year!

August Meal Plan: Week Three

Monday: Paninis

Paninis are a great dinner option because they’re easy to make, and they can be customized for everyone. Served with a side salad and some homemade fries they’re a great, hearty dinner after a lot of summertime play.

Tuesday: Tacos

Taco Tuesday! I love a good taco, so this week we’re going to make tacos on Tuesday. We’ll use a beef recipe they whole family loves and tons of toppings for everyone to choose from including veggies, more veggies, shredded cheese, and of course guac. (It’s not extra at home.)

Wednesday: Brinner

Waffles with sausage. Kale smoothies. (Yes, kale. What? I like it.)

Thursday: Fish

I’m planning to try a new fish recipe this week, but I’m still on the hunt for a good one. Have one to recommend? Share with me in the comments. I may try this chili lime recipe, it says it for tilapia, though I suspect it will work well with many types of fish.

Friday: Pizzas

Making gluten-free and dairy-free pizza is a challenge, but we’ve been doing pretty well with it! I’ll be sure to share my latest version soon, but in the meantime you can always try our Whalen Family pizza dough recipe if you’re not gluten-free or as a basis for your own recipe.

Saturday: Clean Out The Fridge Night

We’ll work on cleaning out the fridge of all the leftovers and foods that need to be eaten up before they go bad. It’s a great way to reduce waste. Read about how we reduce food waste at home here.

Sunday: Stir Fry

Stir Fry Night

Stir fry night is my favorite! We get to choose what goes in our custom-made stir fry, and I always choose ALL the veggies. Snow peas, broccoli, carrots, onions, and more. The must-have? A sprinkling of ginger and garlic. YUM.

What’s on your menu this week?
