August’s second week proves to be just as busy as our first week was. Who said summer was a time for slowing down anyway? 😉 At least it’s not for moms!
Ready to start meal planning, but don’t know where to start?
You can read the 5 easy steps we use to create our meal plan and then download the printable 2015 Menu Plan to get started and save $1,000s each year!
August Meal Plan: Week Two
Monday: Brinner
Bacon pancake sandwiches (via Nom Nom Paleo). Yes, you read that right! We’ll serve up healthy strawberry smoothies on the side to counteract the bacon.
Tuesday: Fish Tacos
Fish tacos with sides of tortilla chips and easy guacamole.
Wednesday: Stir Fry
I love all the veggies on top of more veggies! It’s so delicious with all the great seasonal produce we have during the summer. We usually have beef for stir fry (our local Wegman’s carries organic stir fry meat) and/or shrimp, and sometimes bacon. Because bacon.
Thursday: Steak Sandwiches
Bob used to be a cook, so he knows how to make a mean steak sandwich. We serve them up on Schar buns, a great big salad, and a side of fries.
Friday: Slow Cooker Chicken
This tangy, honey slow cooker chicken is something I dream about! I love it! It’s so, so tasty.
Saturday: Clean Out The Fridge Night
We’ll work on cleaning out the fridge of all the leftovers and foods that need to be eaten up before they go bad. It’s a great way to reduce waste. Read about how we reduce food waste at home here.
Sunday: Appetizer Night
Every once in awhile I like to serve up an appetizer/tapas night. My parents used to do this when I was a kid and I loved it! I was never a big traditional dinner eater so this was my favorite. Serving up cheeses, crackers, salami, olives, veggies and dip, fruit and yogurt dip, and more.
What’s on your menu this week?
Kelly
Schar is a brand of gluten-free breads. They are great!
What’s a Schar bun???
