My family and I are headed to DisneyWorld soon for the first time as a family. I spent some time shopping for the kids last weekend, and filled out their spring and summer wardrobes with clothes from Gap, Gymboree and Land’s End. I took the girls with me because they have to try clothes on (darn skinny kids!), and I didn’t want to make several trips back and forth. It was a lot of fun having them try on clothes and model their outfits, a well as getting their input into what they like and don’t like.
Thanks to awesome in store sales we scored big time. 25% off everything we bought from Land’s End, 30-40% off some purchases from Gap (and some sale items), and 50% off Gymboree pajamas (plus GymBucks!). Land’s End is currently offering 30% off and free shipping through April 11th.
My only complaint? The Land’s End swimsuits we bought were two pieces, and the bottoms were WAY too tight in their size, so we had to go up a size. My girls are both slim waisted (we usually buy slim suits, and slim pants) so the fact they can fit in them at all makes me think they are cut too small.
The girl’s haul includes lots of dresses for spring and summer, and layers to keep warm on cool nights or in air conditioning. We also picked up shorts for the boys, and pajamas for all three younger kids. I get the long sleeved Gymboree pjs because the kids get chilly in summertime with the AC on. Since they were on sale they were all about $10/pair.
Of course the kids came first, so I still have to shop for myself. While I have a good number of tank tops (I love layering them for warmth in winter and coverage in case of pants that slide down too far), I need some short sleeved tops, some fun cardigans (ie not black!), and some comfortable shorts/skirts to wear.
The goal is to be comfortable so I can pick up kids, carry bags, and walk and wait in line fuss free. I already have 2 pairs of shorts set aside, and some tank tops, but I’m thinking I need some tops like these:
These tops would be perfect for being comfy but not sporting a boring tee:
This would be great for a casual date night we’re hoping to squeeze in. (I bought the shoes in brown on clearance last year!)
I also love the casual and simple feel of a maxi dress with a cardigan, and comfy shoes.
Shoes can be comfy without being sneakers. I love Crocs for all day comfort and always got compliments on my last pari (a cute orange color). I plan to bring some cute flats, and maybe I’ll pick up a pair of very trendy espadrilles too.
Now to get shopping! What would you recommend I wear at Disney?
