In the bag

October 31, 2011 By Kelly 7 Comments

I get asked a lot about my life, and how I manage it all. This bag (Banana Republic tote available in various colors in store) is my life. I love that it can fit all my tech gear (laptop, iPad, iPhone, and chargers) and all my other stuff.

I just tidied it up, generally it’s stuffed with a few more kid toys, and a toiletry bag as well, but I left that at home. I also have a coupon binder that holds coupons, membership cards, and other stuff I occasionally need that I left in my car.

At the moment the littlest boy and I are hanging at the bookstore while he peruses Captain Underpants books, and I get busy with emails.

Here’s what I have in my bag:

  • Laptop and charger
  • Etymotic earphones and case (Love these! You can ignore noisy baristas and whiny children-I’m talking about mine- with these.)
  • Glasses so I can see, and glass cloth to clean the filth off
  • Keychain with tags for the grocery store, gym and library
  • Banana Republic yellow wallet (stuffed with receipts and cards, and cashola)
  • Notebook with notes and for kid doodling and some paperwork I need to read
  • Burt’s Bees lip balm
  • Pen
  • Pocket mirror (I never use it, but feel better having it on hand)
  • Hair elastics (I’m wearing the bobby pins I found in my hair)
  • Business cards: some for Splash, some for The Centsible Life
Having a big bag helps me stay organized and pack up everything I need when I need to work somewhere other than home.
What’s in your bag?

Oh, I see! I couldn’t believe you were carrying a Mac without a cover. I’d never drag mine around without a cover especially with kids around.

Totally! It was my compromise on adding that color to my wardrobe without wearing it since I look terrible in it. 😉

It’s tucked underneath the laptop. 😉

Enjoyed looking at what you have in your bag. Do you carry your laptop without a case?

Um how much do I want that BR bag…Think of sending me that hand me down, whenever you would like.

I love that BR yellow wallet! There’s no way you can’t spot that in the bottom of a bag. 🙂
