I’m not a beauty product junkie, but I do find there are certain products I am obsessive about and some I’m willing to pay more for based on the results and how eco-friendly they are.
I have sensitive skin so I have to be careful what I use, and on top of that I have roseacea which means I have a lot of redness and bumps on my face. I also get occasional bouts of adult acne (fun times!). It’s one of the things I’m most embarrassed about honestly.
SheSpeaks sent me a new product to try (Lancôme DreamTone) so I’m sharing my results in the boldest way ever-a bare selfie. For someone who is somewhat self-conscious about her skin this was hard to agree to, but in the end I thought it would produce an honest review for other women who have the same skin issues I do.
Lancôme DreamTone is meant to help reduce dark spots and even skin tone. It’s formulated for your skin tone with 3 variations of colors (Fair, Medium, Dark). Here’s what Lancôme says about this new product:
DreamTone is the next generation in dark spot correction. This customized skin tone correcting serum is powerful. The new DreamTone is 3 barely-tinted serums formulated to visibly correct dark spots, color imperfections and give you a more even-looking skin tone.
The results seemed compelling too. They reported 74% saw glowing skin immediately, 70% noticed a more even skin tone in 7 days, 69% saw the appearance of dark spots reduced in 4 weeks, and 78% saw color imperfections reduced over an 8 week period.*
Purchase Information: Lancôme DreamTone retails for $98 for a 1.3 fl oz. bottle and is available for purchase at Lancôme.com and department stores nationwide.
My Review of Lancôme DreamTone
I started using the product as soon as it arrived approximately 4 weeks ago. I wanted to give the product a full testing before I posted my results so I waited the full 4 weeks.
The product itself is in a great bottle-the top spins and rises so you can easily close and open it for travel. It’s simple to use-just a few pumps post-cleansing morning and night.
I’m not a fan at all of fragrance, but this one didn’t have an overwhelming scent. The feel of the product on my face was smooth, but I did find it was necessary to wash my hands throughly before I applied or did anything else.
I was hopeful the product would work, but my results were minimal. I did not see an overall reduction in dark spots or imperfections, though I think it offered a nice ‘glow’ it wasn’t enough of a difference that I feel this product is a must-have for me.
For me personally it didn’t work well-you can see the results below unfiltered. (please be kind)
I just don’t think it helped the tone or texture of my skin, and unfortunately since I’m so prone to acne I think it may have exacerbated it.
I’m just one of those unfortunate folks who falls in the percentage of people who it didn’t help, BUT I don’t think that means it won’t help everyone. In fact most of the review I see are positive. So if you think it may work for you I’d recommend seeing if you can obtain a sample size from your department store’s cosmetics counter to try first.
