Will Travel: Kalahari Resort-Pocono Mountains

October 22, 2015 By Kelly

Sponsored post disclosure

Today after the kids are done school (and after school activities) we’re packing up the van and heading to the Kalahari Resort in the Poconos Mountains! (keep reading for a Kalahari Resort discount cod just for you!) I can’t wait to experience the water park with the kids, and get away for a night. No school, no schedules, no lunches to pack-just lots of fun to be had!

Where is the Kalahari Resort?

In the Poconos Mountains in Pennsylvania. It’s located 2 hours from Philadelphia, 2 hours from New York, 2 hours from Harrisburg, and 30 minutes from Scranton, PA.

What is the Kalahari Resort?

The Kalahari resort is an African inspired waterpark and resort that is fun for the whole family. It’s got everything under one roof making it perfect for family vacations, reunions, and lots of fun.

The resort is a family run business built by a mom and dad of 5. They know exactly what families are looking for! The family traveled to six countries in Africa to bring back authentic artifacts, and create ass African touches to the resort.

What can you do at Kalahari Resort?

The question is more like what can’t you do?! There’s so much fun to be had that I don’t think we’ll be able to see it all in one trip!

Kalahari’s all-under-one-roof concept features:

  • Pennsylvania’s largest indoor waterpark (100,000 sq. ft.)
  • Outdoor waterpark, which includes a huge outdoor pool, sundeck for relaxing, indoor/outdoor whirlpools and a swim-up bar
  • 30,000 sq. ft. Family Entertainment Center featuring plenty of dry activities, including: mini-bowling, cutting-edge arcade games, a 5D theater, black light mini golf and more
  • 457 guest rooms with one, two, and three-bedroom suites (and more coming soon!)
  • Three full-service signature dining experiences
  • Spa Kalahari and Salon

Outside there are all kinds of activities including:

  • Horseback riding
  • Donald Ross designed golf course
  • Archery
  • Fishing
  • Skiing
  • Sledding

Dining Options

There are also tons of dining options including fast food and higher end restaurants.

For frugal families you will have a microwave and mini fridge in your room, so you can save big on food by packing some food to enjoy on your stay.
