365 Day Meal Plan: Week Seven Menu Plan

Last week’s menu was a little ambitious. With a 4 day weekend (and early dismissal and one kiddo home sick on Thursday) I didn’t have quite as much time to work or catch up on housework last week. So while we had some family time I also mixed in some work and housekeeping this past weekend.

Thankfully my husband took the kids out for a bit so I’m able to gather my thoughts for the coming week’s menu, and look back at last week’s menu.

Week Six Menu Recap

Monday: Split chicken breasts, Brown Rice, Salad, Fruit Salad

This is always a simple and well-received meal. I use split bone-in chicken breasts, and simple spices alongside butter to make a crispy skin with juicy meat underneath.

Tuesday: Valentine’s Day!

The kids had heart shaped sandwiches, heart shaped cake, and strawberries cut into the shape of hearts. (are you sensing a theme?) I made sirloin steaks and green beans for our romantic evening in. I also served up sliced HoneyCrisp apples, and a cheese and salami tray I snagged from Wegman’s.

Wednesday: Gluten-free pasta, broccoli, garlic bread, cheese & sauce, salad

My 14 year old has to make a German food to take to school for Thursday’s class so the kids sampled Kaiserschmarrn, which are like pancakes, for dinner. They also had some fruit on the side, and those of us who couldn’t/didn’t want to eat it had gluten-free waffles instead.

Thursday: Cider glazed pork loin, gluten-free corn bread, salad

It was a sick day for one of the kids, and the last day of school last week. I decided to keep it simple and make ‘Mix Night’ aka tacos and all the fixings.

Friday: Pizza night, garlic bread, salad

There was no garlic bread, but we did make pizzas with a pe-made crust I found from Udi’s. They were pretty tasty and saved a ton of time, so we’ll be using them again.

Saturday: Clean out the fridge night

Everyone ate random food, and my fridge had room for all of the coming week’s food. It’s always a win-win.

Sunday: Stir Fry night (shrimp, steak, veggies) with rice and salad

After a long day of errands, housekeeping and a billion loads of laundry I opted to serve up gluten-free pizzas to myself and my hubby again and we served the kids sandwiches, fruit and salad. Not inventive but hey everyone had something to fill their belly after a long day of housework. ;)
