Must-Have Handbag Essentials Kit

March 10, 2015 By Kelly Leave a Comment

One of the things I’m slightly obsessive about is keeping a stash of things in my handbag at all times. I call it my essentials kit. It’s not that I’m the most organized person in the world, but I’ve learned the hard way that getting caught without my essentials means disaster.

I keep all the items stocked in a small pouch that goes in my handbag, backpack, or computer bag depending on what I’m carrying.

Not only does this tiny essentials kit allow me to feel like I can manage any situation from a bloody nose to a headache, but I stress less knowing I don’t have to worry about finding what I need whether I’m running errands or traveling across the country.

Medication: Extra medication for anyone who takes it daily. This allows me to head out the door and not worry if we don’t make it back in time for a dosage.

Vitamins: I take vitamins daily (to keep my vitamin levels in check) so I keep an extra set in my essentials kit in case I need them.

Small first aid kit: You can get these separately or collect them from around your house, or you can purchase an inexpensive kit for about $5 that includes: bandages, gloves, ice pack, tweezers, cough drops, and more.

Lotion: A small container of lotion for dry skin in winter or sunscreen in summer.

Small pack of tissues: For allergies, runny noses, or wiping faces.

Allergy meds: We have some seasonal allergy sufferers in the house and occasionally I have a reaction to something I ate, so I keep Benadryl and nasal spray in my bag.

Makeup: A little powder, oil absorbing cloths, and lip shimmer.

Bach RESCUE Pastilles and spray: I SWEAR by RESCUE spray and pastilles. I use the spray almost every time I travel to keep my stress and anxiety in check and the pastilles are perfect for the kids. You can buy one and get a second free with this coupon. Not only are RESCUE products an easy and effective solution, they work well whenever I feel stressed-which is so often!
