Grocery Delivery: Save Time & Money With Peapod

August 10, 2015 By Kelly 12 Comments

Sponsored post disclosure

Grocery delivery may seem like something out of a Jetsons cartoon (or normal to you if you live in a big city), but it’s here NOW for many people even suburbanites. Let’s face it grocery shopping isn’t a fun chore. It can be if you have an unlimited budget or are going for one thing, but stocking up on a week’s worth of groceries for the family? It takes time and my credit card cringes every time I enter the grocery store. I also hate jockeying for cart position when the stores are busy, and if I have to take the kids? No, thanks. So now I’m using Peapod to get groceries delivered and save time and money. That’s a win-win-win in my book, and my kids appreciate the fact that the fridge is not empty again.

Peapod & GIANT Food Stores Grocery Delivery: Save Time & Money

GIANT Food Stores partnered with Peapod to offer online shopping and grocery delivery service to select communities throughout Pennsylvania. Can I get a ‘Hallelujah?!’

Not only can I input my favorite products from GIANT Food Stores, but I can use previous purchases to create my orders, too. Less work, no time in the store, and even the same great savings I can get at GIANT?! Yes, please.

When GIANT Food Stores asked me to try out Peapod I jumped at the chance. I have yet to try grocery delivery (it previously wasn’t available in our area) and we have a crazy busy week (and summer) so I needed this to help us get our basics and save about two hours each week.

What Can You Order?

All the things. Seriously! You can shop for fresh fruits and vegetables, seafood, meat and dairy as well as best-selling national brands and GIANT private label products.

Seriously. Anything you can buy at GIANT Food Stores you can buy on Peapod.

How Does It Work?

Simply head to Peapod.com to set up an account and get started OR you can download Peapod’s mobile app to shop from your tablet or smartphone.

It’s so simple. You can set up an account, add your grocery store rewards card and have a list of previously purchased items in nearly a minute.

Then you can head to the specials section or ‘shop now’ to start adding more times to your cart.

Once you’re done you’ll be prompted to set up a delivery time and window. Certain days save you money, so be on the lookout for those.

You can set up text alerts or email alerts once your delivery is scheduled.

Then just sit back and wait for delivery! The driver will even bring everything in the kitchen for you!

Peapod Truck Trucks appear larger in real life.

Get Grocery Savings

While you may think that you won’t be able get the same savings on your groceries that you would at the store itself, you’d be wrong. You can clip online coupons, get ‘in-store’ savings, earn GIANT Gas Extra Rewards and A+ School Rewards for your online purchases.

Ways To Use Peapod

Peapod by GIANT is a great way to save time in the summer. Here are just a few ways you can use Peapod to make life easier and save time.

  • Schedule your groceries to be delivered the day you arrive home from vacation.
  • Grocery shop from the pool deck.
  • Have to spend time in the waiting room for those back to school physicals? Use that time to order your groceries.
  • Use the time when you’re commuting (not when you’re driving obviously!) to set up your grocery delivery.
  • Get back to school ready by setting up a delivery for the day before school starts.
  • Set up the same delivery each week to make life easier and more simple! No more
  • If you split shopping duties with your spouse or anyone else in your household you can tag team the grocery shopping list on Peapod.

I would dance around my house Risky Business style so jazzed that I wasn’t making my fifth circle around the parking lot, cruising down Aisle 9 for the umpteenth time or debating Self-Checkout or Traditional. Peapod is my jam!

I just love Peapod - and I love that it’s connected to Giant, my favorite place to shop for groceries. What wouldn’t I do with an extra hour these days? I’d take the extra time and read one of the many books on my to-read list. Thanks for the great giveaway!

Sweet! I’d love to NOT walk around the grocery store dripping with sweat after a run at the gym! Would be nice to have my order at my front door instead. Thanks, Kelly!

Oh what I wouldn’t do for an extra hour (or 2!!). I would take time for me for once and read a ‘for fun’ book or watch a show.

I would love to say I would read. Realistically, I will probably reorganize my kitchen cabinets while doing laundry:)
